Workshop info:
1. Gramma Wolf’s Garden – Beloved Songwitch S. J. Tucker brings us a storytelling performance in a workshop setting, with songs interspersed and Q&A to follow. Author Satyros Phil Brucato gave S. J. his blessing earlier this decade to produce and release an audio performance of his short story, Gramma Wolf’s Garden, along with the rights to perform it for a live audience. Loosely derived from the bloodier versions of the Red Riding Hood folktale, Gramma Wolf’s Garden contains herb lore, magic, true love, great loss, respect for the natural world, a very intuitive wolf pack, and the triumph of a crone over those who would see her broken and gone from the earth. Preview S. J.’s performance of the story here if you wish, free of charge: https://sjtucker.bandcamp.com/track/gramma-wolfs-garden-live
2. Inward Alchemy: Turning Fear Into Fierceness for the Sake of Your Creative Soul – In our day-to-day lives, we often face negativity aimed at our creative pursuits; sometimes it even comes from within. S. J. shares her own practical magic for facilitating the fantastical in the face of such nonsense: how she slays deadlines, cultural conditioning, and self-doubt with respect to writing & singing songs for a living. Expect a few lively live and unplugged numbers from S. J. and learn about many optional techniques which can be applied not just to writing music or stories, but also to spell work, ritual craft, serving community, and all artistic disciplines.
3. Wishing Well Spell for Kids, Teens, and Magical Beings – S. J.’s short workshop & spell involves rice paper, magic words, and a portable wishing well; all ages welcome! Sooj will hold space for participants to craft a wish for what they’d like to draw into their lives. Together we will work a brief spell and make an offering of our wishes to Sooj’s portable version of a sacred well. Afterwards, if allowed by the site, Sooj will give our offering and our wishes to the land. Feel free to bring flowers to offer as well, if you like!
