“Rootless” is written in G minor, time signature is 4/4.
I generally perform it in standard guitar tuning with my capo on the 3rd fret.
The overall form of the song goes like this, in capo 3:
E minor D major G major C major-D major

then walk down to A minor or Asus2, and from there to E minor.

The instrumental sections follow a shorter version of this form, either:
