Hi, everyone! I hope to see you on my travels this summer. I’m leaving home today, in fact!
I’ve got just a few events to let you in on, with more to come as things get confirmed, for June and July. Folks in Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington state, I’ll be coming through verrrry soon now! My first concert of the summer is THIS FRIDAY in COLORADO SPRINGS!
FRIDAY JUNE 20, 8pm
Sooj Solstice Concert
Unity of the Rockies
1945 Mesa Road
Colorado Springs, CO 80904

I haven’t had a chance to do a show in Colorado Springs in quite some time, so I’m really looking forward to this. Hang on to something, because I’m bringing with me an electric guitar on this trip! Her name is Stella.
Thanks so much to Dawn and to Jennifer and the rest of the Unity staff and congregation for hosting me!
SATURDAY JUNE 28 – MONDAY JULY 1
various show times at
the International New Age Trade Show, INATS West
http://inats.com/west/index.html
Denver Mart Pavilion
451 East 58th Street
Denver, CO 80216
INATS will be the first trade show I’ve participated in as a wholesale vendor, and I’m going in with my friends at Dryad Tea, Mithros Designs and Underhill Alchemy!
I don’t get to make any direct CD sales at INATS, only take orders, so this will be a new experience. I’m feeling very optimistic about the event, especially since INATS guru Andrew Toplarski has been delightful to work with so far. Andrew has set me up with four performances at INATS: one on Saturday morning, one at the Saturday evening COVR awards banquet, one on Sunday afternoon at 4pm, and one on Monday afternoon at 1pm. INATS is primarily for retailers and store owners to come and shop for new products to carry. Hopefully this will be a great chance for me to get my music carried by more stores. For more info, visit the inats.com website.
After a quick visit to friends in Steamboat Springs, it’s off to New Mexico!
SATURDAY JULY 5, 7:30PM
Sooj shares the stage with Helios
Tortuga Gallery
901 Edith Boulevard Southeast
Albuquerque, NM 87102
GET TICKETS HERE: http://soojandhelios.brownpapertickets.com/
I’m so excited to get back to Albuquerque again! This time I get to throw down with local Drum-and-Didgeridoo duo (brought to you by the letter D!) Helios! I can certainly vouch for their groove. Hope you can come and play with us! Tortuga, I’m told, is a very comfy and artsy space.
There’s a big, fuzzy, unclear space on my calendar after Albuquerque, and I’m not entirely sure what I’ll fill it with. Shows in Oregon are possible, and I know that there’s a likelihood of a house concert shared with Kaede Tinney, Betsy Tinney, and In Like a Lion up in Seattle for the month of July, around the 20th of that month. As soon as the fog clears, I’ll clue you all in!
One thing I know for certain: FAERIEWORLDS is coming up soon!
FRIDAY JULY 25, 3:30pm
Sooj & Betsy on the main stage at
Faerieworlds 2014!
http://www.faerieworlds.com
Mt. Pisgah Park & Arboretum
34901 Frank Parrish Road
Eugene, OR 97405
I adore the Faerieworlds festival, and I’m so happy to be going back there again this year- my tenth in a row!
“Faerieworlds is a gorgeous fae-themed camping event and music festival in Eugene, Oregon. Part faire, part Woodstock, part ritual, Faerieworlds seeks to bring us all together in a place where we can let our wings stretch. Sooj’s band Tricky Pixie won’t be performing on the main stage this year. We are sad to receive this news, but all is well. What does this mean? It means WE NEED ALL OF YOU THERE FOR SOOJ’S CONCERT ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON, DANCING HARD AND LOUD AND PROUD!”
Washington State Sooj fans: Here’s a preview for August!
SATURDAY AUGUST 2, 5PM
Harvest Concert with Sooj & Betsy at
Caer Elwin
$25 admission, space limited.
“Come to a place of magic and music as we celebrate the first harvest, a private land where Fire Dancers roam and the clans gather for a special journey into the realm of enchantment. Join us in welcoming singer-songwriter extraordinaire S.J. Tucker as she enchants us with her powerful, hypnotic, soul stirring style of music defined as “Celtic Blues” and Betsy Tinney whose cello music has been called captivating, mesmerizing, and reminiscent of dark chocolate and fine red wine. The evening begins with a potluck buffet. Please bring a dish for 12 along with all of the items that you and your family may need, and please be prepared to tote out your trash. Bring chairs and any comfort necessities for an outdoor event. Beer and wine in limited quantities are acceptable. Parking is limited so please carpool if possible. Reserve your place now with a $25.00 donation as space is limited to 50 people. A portion of all funds collected will be donated to “The Cat’s Meow”. Please contact Elwin La Fae Herman on Facebook or at seekersofstones@yahoo.com or call 360-562-1900 for more information.”
That’s all for now, my fireflies.
Thank you for shining so brightly, and for singing with me wherever you are!
Love,
S. J.
